Magical Lapland Yllasjarvi 4 day trip to Lapland

This Magical Lapland break is set in Yllasjarvi, a small secluded Lappish village situated at the foot of a forest.  There are a number of different types of accomodation  available at the Yllasrinne hotel - Standard rooms and cabins.  Luxury log cabins catering for the larger group are also available a short distance away.

Day 1 in Lapland

Morning flight from London to Kittilä. Transfer to your accommodation, collecting special thermal clothing en-route. Time for lunch then afterwards it's time to dress warmly and depart for a husky dog safari (3km) late in the afternoon.  Coffee, warm juice and buns will be served after the exhilarating safari, before returing to your accommodation for a welcome drink and dinner.

Day 2 in Lapland

After breakfast take a short transfer to a reindeer farm where a day of lots of fun winter activities will take place. The children can enjoy a 45 minute reindeer ride through the snowy forest to the reindeer herders cabin. There will be an opportunity to bake make Christmas decorations or enjoy snow fun - tandem skiing, kick sledging and  tobogganing.

Lunch will be served at the farm throughout the day.  Each family will be taken to visit Santa, who is known to be resting in a traditional Kota (Tepee) nearby.  Santa will read your childrens letter and provide a small Christmas present for each of them (under 12)

You will then return to the hotel, stopping for souvernir shopping on the way. Time to relax before enjoying a traditional festive Christmas dinner after which it's time to fall into bed for some well earned rest.

Day 3 in Lapland

It's free time in the morning, time to enjoy the fresh crisp air, and stunning scenery. 

Lunch at the hotel the you will set off on a snowmobile safari through the unspoilt Lapland forest. Two adults per snowmobile and (unless it’s very cold) children tucked up warmly in sleighs pulled by the snowmobiles. Half way around the 3 hour route, there will be an opportunity to stop for warm drinks and to swap drivers.

After the snowmobile safari, you will return back to your hotel for a festive dinner.

Day 4 in Lapland

After breakfast, it is time to check out and bid a fond farewell to Lapland.

You will be transfered back to Kittila airport to catch your return flight back to the UK.

3 Day trips follow the same itinerary with the exception that on day 3 you will check out of the hotel in the morning, then return back to the UK on a later flight after the snowmobile safari.
