Day 1 in Lapland

Fly from your chosen airport to Ivalo, where you will be greeted by reindeer with its Sami Handler, and one of Santa's elves.

You will then be taken on a short 25 minute coach journey to your chosen hotel or chalet in Saariselka.  Try and see if you can spot more reindeer, or even Santa's cabin on the way!

Time to pick your complimentary thermal over-suits, boots, gloves and hats and then settle into your accommodation.

Then it is Fun-Time, giving you the chance to explore your surroundings, make snowmen, go tobogganing, of relax in a traditional Finnish sauna.  Then, if you have taken the value for money full board option, time for your first night dinner where you can meet other guests and build your anticipation for the next few days!

Day 2 in Lapland

Join us on a Search for the Magical Trolls.  This are not 'scary' trolls, but friendly trolls who look after the woodland animals.  They live with the Woodland Sprites who are mischievous creatures who disguise themselves as furry forest animals!  The locals say that Santa loves having help from his visitors, so you will search the snowy forest to find them, and help distribute the enchanted food that the animals all rely on.

You will also visit the Elf School, where the cheeky Saari Elves will tell stories of elfin adventures and traditions, and even a song or two on the way.

As with all the days, lunch is included either before or after your search.  This consists of a simple 2-course meal, with plenty of hot berry juice, squash, tea and coffee available, and full board guests will end the day with a meal in your chosen hotel.

Day 3 in Lapland

The highlight of the day is the thrilling 1.5 hour Snowmobile Safari Adventure.  Adults can ride with a partner, taking turns to drive or ride pillion, while your children are towed in special sledges behind the guides.  Halfway through the trip, hot drinks are served around a campfire, with toboggans laid on to keep the children happy

Lunch will be served, either before or after your snowmobile adventure in one of the local restaurants. 

Then it is time for free time to allow you to relax, or you can choose one of the many optional adventures on offer.  Then, of course full board customers will end the day with your evening meal in your chosen hotel

Day 4 in Lapland

Today is the day for the ultimate Christmas adventure.  You will participate in all of the following activities at different times throughout the day, which are all included in the price:

• A 7-10 minute Reindeer Sleigh Ride through the picturesque woods.  You will meet the reindeer and local Sami guide who will teach you the Lappish reindeer names.
• A 15 minute Husky Sled Ride, where the children get to ride with the parents, who can take it in turns to drive the sled (Adults only) and shout "Mush Mush!" at every opportunity.
• Fufil your family's Search for Santa, where you will meet the man himself in an exclusive private family meeting in his hideaway log-cabin home, with his helpers on hand to make you welcome.
• You will be able to witness a Traditional Arctic Circle Ceremony, where a Sami guide will introduce you to their traditional culture with stories and a song or two.  Every guest will receive a special souvenir certificate, to celebrate your crossing of the Arctic Circle.
• A host of snow and ice activities will be waiting for you such as ice-fishing, snow-hockey, kick-sledding, tandem skiing, mini skidoo rides for the children, tobogganing and snow sculpturing.

Lunch will be served during the day, and refreshments will be available to allow you to spend a few minutes warming up by a log fire.  Then, it is back to your hotel or chalet to get ready for the Gala Dinner (full board only)

Day 5 in Lapland

Time in the morning to relax, participate in an Optional Adventure or do some souvenir shopping before you are collected and taken back to Ivalo airport for your flight back home.  

If you have chosen the full board option, you will be provided with a pack lunch to allow you to make most of the time in the morning.

• Snowmobile Safari - a 1½ to 2-hour adventure, zooming across open snowfields, and including a halfway stop for a warming mug of hot berry juice around an open fire.

• Husky Heaven - if our included husky-sled ride whets your appetite, this 1-hour trip gives you longer to experience the unrivalled thrill of 'driving' your own team of huskies through the pristine landscape.

• Rudolph's Reindeer Run - a wonderful ride to remember, snuggled under blankets as reindeer pull your sleigh across the snow! Family rides available, or romantic sleighs for two!

• Downhill Skiing and Cross-Country Skiing are also available if you fancy something completely different.
• Enjoy a steaming sauna - free in all our chalets and hotels.
• Take the children swimming at the Hotel Holiday Club pool (FREE to those staying there).
• Ride the ski-bus to the top of Kaunispää Fell, the local ski-hill, and toboggan down the 1.2km run.
• Stroll the village shops for Christmas presents and souvenirs.
• Try snow-shoeing - the perfect way to explore off the beaten track. Adults £32 / Children 2-11 years £22.
• Ice Driving - Take the wheel of a go-kart and test your skills in the ice and snow.  Approx 20 minutes driving time.  Adults £69.
• Northern Lights Adventure - An evening snowmobile expedition in search of the fabulous Northern Lights.  1.5 hours with two adults sharing a snowmobile and children travelling in a snowmobile-sled.  Adults £69 / Children 2-11 years £59.

     Prices based on staying in the Hotel Kieppi in a Type A Bedroom sleeping 2-3 people on a bed & breakfast basis.  Full board supplements on request.
