Day 1 in Lapland

After arrival at Rovaniemi’s own convenient airport, the children will love being greeted en route to the resort by a reindeer with its Sami handler, and one of Santa’s elves.

Our comfortable coaches will whisk you off for a short 20-25 minute ride to your chosen accommodation, stopping en rout to get you fitted out with your complimentary thermal oversuits, boots, gloves and hats.

Fun-time – a chance to explore Rovaniemi and get your bearings in this popular resorts, or to head out into the snow to make snowmen or try tobogganing, or maybe enjoy a relaxing swim or sauna.

For guests on full board option, a wonderful welcome dinner this evening sets the scene for tomorrow’s excitement!

Day 2 in Lapland

Today’s major highlight is our thrilling 1 ½ hour snowmobile safari adventure! Zooming along forest trails or across the frozen river, adults ride with a partner, taking turns if you wish to drive or ride pillion, whilst children are towed in special sledges behind the guides, or older children may choose to ride behind a parent. The trip also includes a break for hot drinks around a crackling campfire, with toboggans laid on to keep the youngsters busy and happy!

Today you will also meet a local Sami guide at the traditional Arctic Circle Ceremony, who will introduce you to their culture with their stories and legends, and every guest receives a special souvenir certificate to commemorate the day.

Lunch is also included at the welcoming Reindeer cottage restaurant, either before or after the snowmobile adventure.

This 3 night / 4 day trip allows that bit of extra time to relax and enjoy Lapland to the full, so for the remainder of the day, you may choose an optional adventure.

Full board guests will then enjoy dinner at the restaurant of their chosen accommodation.

Day 3 in Lapland

We will pick you up for the ultimate Christmas adventure, with all the following activities available at some point during the day, all of which are included in the package:

• Husky Sled Ride : those lovable dogs just love to run, and the sensation of gliding through this winter wonderland behind a team of eager huskies is the highlight of the trip for many guests. Children ride sitting with a parent whilst grown-ups can all take a turn at actually driving your own sled on this thrilling 20 min adventure.
• Reindeer Sleigh : meet your reindeer and your Sami guide, learn the Lappish reindeer names, then set off through the clad woods on a magical 7-10 min ride, with the children cuddled under blankets on your knee.
• Visit Santa’s “ Lapland Control Centre” : to see how Santa keeps track of all of his letters from around the world, and stays in touch with all of his elves and helpers, busily getting ready for Christmas.
• ElfSchool : warm up with a fun lesson at elf school, learning about the elves and their ways, and maybe a little also about the shy but friendly Lapland animals you may meet out and about in the wood!
• Santa Claus : The highlight of the day is by snowmobile-sled on your family’s own search for Santa! Tucked away in the woods, you will find his little log cabin home, and meet Santa Claus himself in an exclusive, private family meeting with his helpers on hand ensure there is magic in the air!
• Ice Activities : A super range of snow and ice activities are available for you all to enjoy, including tobogganing, ice fishing, kick-sledding, tandem skiing, mini skidoo rides for children, and the local skill of reindeer– lassoing.
• Refreshments: are included too and are available indoors all day and there’s even a chance to bake your own gingerbread man to eat or to save, up to you!

Finally, it’s back to your chosen hotel or cabin accommodation to get ready for ( if you have chosen the great value full board option ) your Lapland dinner show to round off your break in style!

Day 4 in Lapland

Fun time again, with the chance to thrill to one of the wide range of exciting optional adventures such as a snowmobile safari, skiing, tobogganing or snowshoeing.

Alternatively, you may wish to use the morning to do a little Christmas shopping in Rovaniemis’s attractive range of clothes, craft and gift shops and take a taste of Lapland home with you!

What ever you chose if you have taken full board option, a light packed lunch will be provided from your hotel to eat at your convenience.

We will collect you from your accommodation by coach for the short transfer back to Ivalo airport for your return flight home, and the chance for sleepy children to dream of Santa!
